3 Ways to Create an Atmosphere of Happiness
In order to build stronger relationships with those around you, you must establish an atmosphere of happiness at home, at work, and in your relationships. Think about the happiest people you know—what do they have in common? Do they smile and laugh frequently? Do they seem to always be surrounded by friends and family? Are they generally optimistic about life? Become more like them! Experience more happiness in your own life starting today. Here are three ways to create an atmosphere of happiness wherever you go.
Focus on Being Happy
To create a more positive atmosphere, focus on finding happiness in every aspect of your life. A positive relationship with yourself leads to happiness. This also leads to positive relationships with others. It’s a positive cycle that leads back into itself over and over again. If you want better relationships, start by working on your own happiness! A healthy amount of self-love will naturally attract people who love you back.
A recent poll found that almost half of American adults (48 percent) are unhappy with their lives. The good news is that we can all make a change.
Practice Thankfulness Everyday
It is often argued that positive people are happier and healthier than negative people. Creating a culture where happiness is encouraged is essential for creating stronger relationships This doesn’t mean you have to be unrealistically happy all day long. It simply means you should put yourself in situations where you can be grateful about your life, no matter how big or small. One way to do that is by starting every morning with three things you’re thankful for—it can be as simple as eating breakfast or getting out of bed, but if done consistently it will create a positive environment where anything seems possible. That same positivity can carry over into other areas of your life by encouraging others around you to practice thankfulness too.
What’s more, the gratitude you feel will allow you to make better decisions and live with greater intentionality. But we’re not talking about being unhappy all the time here. We’re talking about being more optimistic and grateful.
Start your day with gratitude Begin every morning by thinking about something you’re grateful for.
Write it down in a journal, send a text message or email, or even say it out loud. Your gratitude will help you start your day with a fresh mindset and positive energy. You’ll notice that you start every day with a sense of hope and optimism, no matter what has happened the day before.
Surround Yourself With Positive People
The old saying, “You are who you hang out with” is true. Your friends have a huge influence on your happiness, so choose them wisely. Surround yourself with positive people who share your goals and values. If someone brings you down, don’t keep them around just because you’ve known them for years or because they serve some other purpose. Friendships are there to help lift us up—don’t waste time on those that do anything but that.
As a result, you’ll spend less time with negative, unhelpful friends and more time with people who bring you up.
As Jim Rohn has said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. Surround yourself with positive people”.
Create an Atmosphere of Happiness
In short, creating an atmosphere of happiness is a matter of focus and perspective. Start by focusing on being happy yourself. Then, practice gratitude and thankfulness daily. Finally, Surround yourself with positive people.
